Innovative Wallet Offers Solution to Mitigate Bitcoin's Quantum Computing Risks Without Requiring a Fork

The developers of a novel wallet claim to have devised a method to counter the risks associated with quantum computing by utilizing a smart contract layer that operates in tandem with the Bitcoin network, without necessitating any alterations to the network itself. Postquant Labs has unveiled the Quip Network wallet, which operates on the Arch Network, allowing developers to construct smart contracts directly anchored to Bitcoin. This approach enables the addition of a post-quantum signature scheme, known as WOTS+, to enhance the security of Bitcoin transactions. By utilizing a 'Layer 2' network, developers can introduce new features without modifying the base layer of Bitcoin.
