Alchemy CEO Claims Crypto Was Designed for AI, Not Humans

The current financial system was created with human limitations in mind, such as geographical constraints, sleep patterns, and physical presence. However, with the emergence of AI agents as economic players, this human-centric design is becoming a hindrance. Alchemy CEO Nikil Viswanathan suggests that cryptocurrency was, in fact, built for AI agents, not humans. Banks operate on human schedules, payments are tied to countries, and credit cards rely on physical identity, but AI agents function differently. They are always active, have no physical presence, and can transact globally without restrictions. Viswanathan believes that crypto is the native infrastructure for AI economic actors, offering a seamless, global, and programmable financial layer. The complexity of crypto, which has long been a challenge for humans, is actually a strength for machines, as they operate natively in code. Viswanathan envisions a future where AI agents manage financial complexity, handle transactions, and optimize capital flows in real-time, allowing people to control their funds more easily. This would result in a more global, programmable, and autonomous financial system, with traditional finance and crypto at the base, an agent layer operating on top, and a human interface above that.
