KuCoin EU Enhances AML Capabilities to Address Austrian Regulatory Concerns
In a move to address regulatory concerns, KuCoin's European division has bolstered its anti-money laundering and compliance capabilities. The cryptocurrency exchange, which holds a MiCA license from Austria's FMA, recently appointed Carmen Kleinhans as its new anti-money laundering officer and expanded its AML function. Additionally, seasoned compliance experts Stephan Klinger and Bernd Träxler have joined as deputy anti-money laundering officers. According to KuCoin EU Managing Director Sabina Liu, the exchange has maintained open communication with the FMA since the regulatory action in February, and has since been strengthening its compliance team through multiple appointments. The exchange aims to resume operations in Europe, but a timeline for this has not been disclosed, pending discussions with the FMA.
