Bitcoin ETF Inflows Surpass $996 Million, Fueling Bullish Sentiment Amid DeFi Concerns

The current market trends indicate a positive outlook for bitcoin, currently trading at $76,121.83, despite recent geopolitical developments and DeFi hacks. U.S.-listed spot ETFs saw significant inflows of $663 million on Friday, with total inflows reaching $996 million for the week, according to SoSoValue. This substantial investment suggests strong institutional interest in the cryptocurrency. For a significant price increase to occur, sustained inflows are necessary. Timothy Misir, head of research at BRN, notes that consistent ETF flow regimes are more important than their magnitude, as they signal structural demand. Bitcoin's price has remained relatively stable over the past 24 hours, with similar patterns observed in other major tokens such as ether, XRP, and Solana. The DeFi platform Aave's token has dropped 1% to $90 following the KelpDAO hack, while the DeFi dominance rate remains at around 3%. The pressure on bitcoin is linked to negative stock market reactions to news about Iran, reducing risk appetite. However, traders are actively building short positions, which could lead to a 'short squeeze' if prices remain steady. The chart for Solana shows a notable level at $95.16, which has acted as resistance for 11 consecutive weeks. A strong move above this level, backed by increased trading volumes, is necessary to invalidate the bearish outlook.
