UK Courts Crypto Exchange Bybit to Regain Innovation Edge
In a bid to replicate the success of the UAE's thriving crypto scene, UK economic development officials have extended an invitation to Bybit, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, to establish a presence in London. Bybit's CEO, Ben Zhou, met with government-linked bodies, including the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the House of Lords, to explore opportunities for growth and discuss forthcoming crypto-friendly regulations. With Bybit's headquarters currently based in Dubai, the UK aims to attract big businesses and create jobs, leveraging the exchange's presence to draw in smaller crypto companies and stimulate innovation. The move comes as the UAE faces uncertainty due to recent geopolitical tensions, prompting the UK to seize the opportunity to regain its competitive edge in the crypto space.
