Parasite Mining Pool Strikes Again with Second Bitcoin Block

A novel Bitcoin mining pool, designed to challenge traditional models, has achieved its second block, validating its hybrid approach. Parasite Pool, launched in April 2025, mined block 945,601, with 7,398 transactions and 0.002 BTC in fees, and distributed the reward accordingly. The pool's mechanism, which pays 1 BTC to the block finder and splits the remaining 2.125 BTC plus fees among participants, has been tested and proven effective. This approach aims to provide a more equitable distribution of rewards, encouraging home miners to participate. With no fees and payouts routed through the Lightning Network, Parasite Pool offers an alternative to industrial-scale mining operations. The pool's hashrate, currently at 52 petahashes per second, demonstrates the potential for smaller-scale mining operations to make a meaningful impact. As the Bitcoin network continues to evolve, innovative models like Parasite Pool may play a significant role in shaping the future of mining.
