DeFi Leaders Unite to Support Aave Users After Massive Crypto Hack

The DeFi community has come together in response to the recent Kelp DAO exploit, with Aave at the forefront of a massive recovery effort. The initiative, known as 'DeFi United,' has secured approximately $303 million in commitments from various industry participants, including Consensys, which has pledged up to 30,000 ETH. Aave's founder, Stani Kulechov, has also personally donated 5,000 ETH to support the cause. Other contributors include Emilio Frangella, Ernesto Boado, and Marcelo Ruiz de Orlano, who have collectively pledged hundreds of ETH. The response has extended beyond Aave, with entities like Lido, EtherFi, and Mantle proposing various forms of support, including stETH allocations and credit facility loans. The effort has drawn praise from industry leaders, with Joseph Lubin stating that the Ethereum ecosystem is 'at its best when it moves together.' The breadth of participation highlights the widespread impact of the exploit and the DeFi community's commitment to supporting users and restoring market stability.
