Kalshi Cracks Down on Insider Trading, Targets Politician from FBoy Island

Kalshi, a prominent prediction market firm, has taken disciplinary action against several users accused of insider trading, including a former reality TV star from Virginia who intentionally made improper trades. The company stated, "These cases demonstrate our dedication to preventing unfair trading practices on our platform, regardless of the trade size or the individual's political influence." Two of the individuals admitted to wrongdoing and received moderate penalties, whereas the Virginia politician defied the process. Kalshi's rules, outlined on its website, allow for fines and suspensions to deter repeat offenses. The company has been under scrutiny, along with the events-contract industry as a whole, for its ability to manage contracts without insider abuse. Kalshi has been at the forefront of clashes with state regulators over the legality of its activities, with the CFTC chairman supporting the industry's position that it falls under federal jurisdiction.
