Bitcoin Sees Significant ETF Inflows, Fueling Bullish Sentiment Amid DeFi Concerns

Despite recent Iran-related news and DeFi hacks, the bitcoin market continues to show a positive trend, with the price of BTC currently at $76,930.00. Last week, U.S.-listed spot ETFs saw significant inflows of $996 million, indicating strong institutional interest in the cryptocurrency. This surge in investment is a crucial factor that could lead to a meaningful price rally if sustained. According to Timothy Misir, head of research at BRN, consistent ETF inflows are a key indicator of structural demand, while intermittent flows suggest tactical positioning. Bitcoin's price has remained relatively stable over the past 24 hours, trading just above $75,000 after reaching highs of over $78,000 on Friday. Similar price patterns are observed in other major tokens such as ether, XRP, and Solana. However, the DeFi platform Aave's AAVE token has dropped 1% to $90 following the KelpDAO hack, and the DeFi dominance rate has remained steady at around 3%. The current market pressure on bitcoin is linked to negative reactions in stock markets to news about Iran, which has reduced risk appetite. Meanwhile, traders are actively building short positions, betting against a breakout, which could potentially fuel a 'short squeeze' if prices hold steady. In the altcoin market, Solana's price has remained below the key level of $95.16 for 11 consecutive weeks, indicating sustained bearish sentiment and potential for deeper losses. A strong move above this level, backed by a surge in trading volumes, is needed to invalidate the bearish outlook.
