Bitcoin Surpasses Critical Threshold Ahead of Warsh Hearing

Bitcoin is currently trading with a positive outlook above the $75,000 mark, a level previously identified by CoinDesk as crucial for bulls to maintain their grip on the market. Despite this, some analysts are urging caution, pointing out that prices must remain above this threshold through Wednesday, when the US-Iran ceasefire is set to expire. Analysts at Marex noted that the market must consider two possible paths - either an extension and de-escalation or renewed escalation and oil price stress. This uncertainty could lead to significant market fluctuations. An escalation of the conflict could drive oil prices above the March high of $119, potentially causing a downturn in Asian and global equity markets. It remains to be seen whether bitcoin will remain resilient or succumb to pressure along with the broader market. As of now, no Iranian delegation has departed for talks in Pakistan, and President Donald Trump has warned of a major escalation if the ceasefire ends without a deal. Additionally, Kevin Warsh's nomination hearing for Federal Reserve chair is scheduled for Tuesday, and his remarks could significantly impact the market, particularly if they reinforce expectations of policy easing. Major cryptocurrencies such as ether, solana, and XRP have seen modest gains of less than 2% over the past 24 hours, underperforming bitcoin. Meanwhile, smaller tokens like XLM and TON have risen by more than 5% each, and the CoinDesk Memecoin Index has increased by over 3%. Notably, the DeFi Select Index has added 2%, despite the recent hack of KelpDAO, which saw the attacker drain rsETH, a widely used liquid restaking token. Decentralized lender Aave has been severely impacted, with the total value of crypto assets locked on its platform falling to $16 billion, a decline of nearly $10 billion since the hack. Aave's native token, AAVE, has declined 18% to $93, while open interest in futures tied to the token has hit a record high, indicating potential for increased volatility. The chart shows XRP's daily price swings, with the white line representing the 100-day average price and the yellow line representing the prolonged bear market. XRP remains below both the average and the trendline, indicating weaker momentum compared to bitcoin and ether, which have established firmer bullish structures.
