Parasite Mining Pool Strikes Again, Finding Its Second Bitcoin Block

A revolutionary bitcoin mining pool, Parasite Pool, has proven the effectiveness of its hybrid model by mining its second block. This pool, launched in April 2025, operates on a distinctive model where the miner who solves a block receives 1 BTC, and the remaining 2.125 BTC plus fees are distributed among all participants based on their contributions. Notably, this pool has no participation fees, and payouts are made through the Lightning Network. The recent block, 945,601, carried 7,398 transactions and 0.002 BTC in fees, with bitcoin trading at $76,213 at the time. This model aims to provide a more equitable distribution of rewards, differing from both the industrial pay-per-share model and the pure lottery approach. The pool's founder, ZK Shark, targets home miners, offering an alternative to the dominant industrial operators. By splitting the block reward, Parasite Pool preserves the potential for significant payouts while ensuring that participants receive consistent rewards. The pool's hashrate currently stands at 52 petahashes per second, and its ability to retain hashrate between blocks demonstrates the viability of its model. As the mining landscape continues to evolve, Parasite Pool's success may pave the way for more innovative approaches to bitcoin mining.
