Bitcoin Trades Above Crucial Level as Market Awaits Warsh Hearing

Bitcoin is currently trading with a positive trend above the critical $75,000 threshold, a level previously identified by CoinDesk as essential for bulls to maintain control. However, some analysts are advising caution, emphasizing the need for prices to remain above this level through Wednesday, when the U.S.-Iran ceasefire is scheduled to expire. Analysts at Marex noted that the market must consider two possible paths: the extension and de-escalation of the conflict, or renewed escalation and increased oil prices. This uncertainty could lead to rapid price movements. An escalation of the conflict could drive oil prices above the March high of $119, potentially causing a downturn in Asian and global equity markets. It remains to be seen whether bitcoin will remain resilient or come under pressure along with the broader market. As of the latest update, no Iranian delegation has departed for the talks in Pakistan, and President Donald Trump has warned of a significant escalation in the conflict if the ceasefire ends without a deal. Additionally, the nomination hearing for Federal Reserve Chair, Kevin Warsh, is scheduled for Tuesday. Warsh is known for his hawkish stance on inflation and has opposed interest-rate cuts and quantitative easing in the past. His remarks during the hearing could have a significant impact on the market, particularly if they reinforce expectations of policy easing. In the broader cryptocurrency market, major cryptocurrencies such as ether, solana, and XRP have seen limited gains of less than 2% over the past 24 hours, underperforming bitcoin. Smaller tokens, including XLM and TON, have seen more significant increases of over 5% each. The CoinDesk Memecoin Index has risen by over 3%. The DeFi Select Index has added 2%, despite the recent hack of KelpDAO, which saw the attacker drain rsETH, a widely used liquid restaking token. Decentralized lender Aave has been heavily impacted, with the total value of crypto assets locked on its platform falling to $16 billion, a decline of nearly $10 billion since before the hack. Aave's native token, AAVE, has declined by 18% to $93 since the hack, while open interest in futures tied to the token has reached a record high, indicating potential for increased volatility ahead.
