Parasite Mining Pool Strikes Again, Uncovering Its Second Bitcoin Block

A pioneering bitcoin mining pool, designed to challenge conventional pay-per-share and pure lottery models, has achieved a significant milestone by mining its second block. The Parasite Pool, which operates on a distinctive hybrid model, discovered block 945,601, its second block since launching in April 2025. This block contained 7,398 transactions and 0.002 BTC in fees, with bitcoin trading at $76,213 at the time. The pool's hybrid model rewards the winning miner with 1 BTC and distributes the remaining 2.125 BTC, plus fees, proportionally among all participants based on their contributions. This innovative approach has attracted home miners, and the pool's hashrate currently stands at 52 petahashes per second. The success of Parasite Pool's model, founded by ZK Shark, could potentially disrupt the mining landscape, which is currently dominated by large-scale industrial operators. As the pool continues to operate, it will be interesting to see whether its hybrid model can sustain participant engagement during periods without block discoveries.
