Bitcoin Surpasses Critical Threshold Ahead of Warsh Hearing

Bitcoin is currently trading with a positive trend above the $75,000 threshold, a crucial level for bulls to maintain control, as highlighted by CoinDesk. However, observers are advising caution, noting that prices must remain above this level through Wednesday, when the US-Iran ceasefire is set to expire. Analysts at Marex stated, 'The market must consider two possible paths: extension and de-escalation, or renewed escalation and oil stress, which is why even with strong BTC, the market can still experience rapid fluctuations.' An escalation could lead to a significant increase in oil prices, potentially affecting Asian and global equity markets. The question remains whether bitcoin will continue to show resilience or come under pressure along with the broader market. As of now, no Iranian delegation has departed for talks in Pakistan, and President Donald Trump has warned of a major escalation if the ceasefire ends without a deal. Kevin Warsh's nomination hearing for Federal Reserve chair is also on analysts' radar, scheduled for Tuesday. Warsh is known for his stance as an 'inflation hawk,' and his remarks during the session could have a significant impact on the market. Digital assets trading firm QCP Capital noted, 'His comments could act as a near-term catalyst, particularly if they reinforce expectations of policy easing.' In the broader market, major cryptocurrencies such as ether, solana, and XRP have seen minimal gains, underperforming bitcoin. However, smaller tokens like XLM and TON have experienced significant growth. The CoinDesk Memecoin Index has also seen an increase of over 3%. The DeFi Select Index added 2%, despite the industry-wide fallout from the KelpDAO hack over the weekend. Decentralized lender Aave has been severely affected, with the total value of crypto assets locked on its platform falling to $16 billion. Aave's native token, AAVE, has declined 18% since the hack, but open interest in futures tied to the token has hit a record high, indicating potential volatility ahead.
