Bitcoin Bull Run Gains Momentum with Nearly $1 Billion in ETF Inflows Amid DeFi Concerns

Despite recent geopolitical developments and DeFi security breaches, the outlook for bitcoin remains optimistic, with the cryptocurrency trading at $78,311.21. A significant influx of $663 million into U.S.-listed spot ETFs on Friday, totaling $996 million for the week, underscores robust institutional interest. Sustained inflows are crucial for a substantial price surge. According to Timothy Misir, head of research at BRN, consistent ETF flow regimes are more important than their magnitude, as they signal structural demand. Bitcoin has been trading steadily above $75,000 after reaching highs of over $78,000 on Friday. Similarly, other major tokens like ether, XRP, and Solana have exhibited stable price patterns. However, the AAVE token has dropped 1% to $90 following the KelpDAO hack, with the DeFi dominance rate remaining flat at around 3%. Alex Kuptsikevich, chief market analyst at FxPro, attributes the current pressure on bitcoin to negative stock market reactions to Iran-related news, which has reduced risk appetite. Meanwhile, traders are actively building short positions, potentially setting the stage for a short squeeze if prices remain steady. The U.S. attack on an Iranian cargo ship has further contributed to market uncertainty. In technical analysis, Solana's inability to surpass the $95.16 level, which previously served as support, indicates sustained bearish sentiment and potential for further losses. A strong move above this level, accompanied by increased trading volumes, is necessary to invalidate the bearish outlook.
