Parasite Mining Pool Strikes Again, Finding Its Second Bitcoin Block

A groundbreaking bitcoin mining pool, designed to defy conventional models, has achieved its second major milestone. Parasite Pool, launched in April 2025, has now mined block 945,601, approximately 48 days after its first block. This block contained 7,398 transactions and 0.002 BTC in fees, with bitcoin valued at $76,213 at the time. The pool operates on a distinctive hybrid model, where the winning miner receives 1 BTC, and the remaining 2.125 BTC plus fees are distributed proportionally among all participants based on their contributions. Notably, the pool charges no fees and facilitates payouts through the Lightning Network. The success of Parasite Pool, founded by ZK Shark, underscores the potential for home miners to participate in the bitcoin network, offering an alternative to industrial-scale operations. By splitting the block reward, Parasite aims to provide a more inclusive and sustainable mining experience, and its second block is a significant step towards validating this innovative approach.
