Bitcoin Holds Above Crucial Level as Market Awaits Warsh Hearing

Bitcoin is currently trading with a positive outlook above the $75,000 threshold, a level previously identified by CoinDesk as crucial for bulls to maintain control. However, some market observers are advising caution, noting that prices must remain above this level through Wednesday, when the U.S.-Iran ceasefire is scheduled to end. Analysts at Marex cautioned that the market is pricing in two possible scenarios - an extension and de-escalation or a renewed escalation and increased oil prices - ahead of the ceasefire's expiration. This uncertainty could lead to sudden market movements. An escalation could push oil prices above the March high of $119, potentially causing a downturn in Asian and global equity markets. It remains to be seen whether bitcoin, which remained relatively stable around $70,000 during the March conflict, will continue to show resilience or come under pressure along with the broader market. As of the latest update, no Iranian delegation has departed for the talks in Pakistan, and President Donald Trump has warned of a significant escalation if the ceasefire ends without a deal. Additionally, the nomination hearing for Kevin Warsh, a known 'inflation hawk,' as Federal Reserve chair is scheduled for Tuesday. His comments during the session could have a significant impact on the market, particularly if they reinforce expectations of policy easing. In the broader cryptocurrency market, major coins such as ether, solana, and XRP have seen minimal gains of less than 2% over the past 24 hours, underperforming bitcoin. However, smaller tokens like XLM and TON have risen by more than 5% each, and the CoinDesk Memecoin Index has increased by over 3%. Notably, the DeFi Select Index has added 2%, despite the industry-wide impact of the weekend's KelpDAO hack, which saw the attacker drain rsETH, a widely used liquid restaking token. Decentralized lender Aave has been significantly affected, with the total value of crypto assets locked on its platform falling to $16 billion, a decline of nearly $10 billion since before the hack. Aave's native token, AAVE, has declined 18% to $93 since the hack, while open interest in futures tied to the token has hit a record high, indicating potential for increased volatility. The current market trends and signal analysis suggest that XRP remains below both its 100-day average and the prolonged bear market trendline, even as market leaders bitcoin and ether have surpassed these levels. Until XRP reclaims both the 100-day average and the downtrend line, its momentum is expected to remain weaker compared to BTC and ETH.
