This overhaul aims to address growing concerns over bots and deepfakes impersonating humans online. The upgrade involves a custom-built 'Orb' device that scans users' faces and irises to generate unique cryptographic codes, establishing proof of humanity without revealing personal data. The company has redesigned its architecture to improve privacy, security, and usability, introducing new features such as account-based identity and multi-key support. A dedicated World ID app is also being introduced, allowing users to manage their credentials and authenticate across platforms seamlessly.
