Bitcoin Bull Case Gains Momentum as ETF Inflows Reach $996 Million
Despite concerns over Iran and DeFi hacks, the bitcoin market continues to show a positive trend, with the price of BTC currently at $78,114.42. The recent influx of $996 million into U.S.-listed spot ETFs, with $663 million coming in on Friday alone, indicates strong interest from institutions in the largest cryptocurrency. For a significant price increase to occur, this trend must be sustained. According to Timothy Misir, head of research at BRN, consistent ETF inflows are crucial for signaling structural demand. Bitcoin's price has remained steady above $75,000 after reaching highs of over $78,000 on Friday, with similar patterns observed in other major tokens such as ether and Solana. However, the DeFi platform Aave's token has dropped 1% to $90 due to the KelpDAO hack. The pressure on bitcoin is linked to negative reactions in stock markets to news about Iran, reducing risk appetite. Meanwhile, traders are building short positions, which could lead to a 'short squeeze' if prices hold steady. The chart for Solana shows a key level of $95.16, which has acted as resistance since it was broken in early February. A strong move above this level, backed by increased trading volumes, is needed to invalidate the bearish outlook. The next major support level is seen at $50.
