US Army Green Beret Arrested for Allegedly Betting on Venezuela Raid

According to the indictment, Van Dyke created a Polymarket account and placed multiple bets on the outcome of the raid, which resulted in approximately $400,000 in winnings. The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission is also pursuing an insider trading complaint against Van Dyke, alleging that he endangered US national security and put the lives of American service members at risk by using confidential information for personal gain. Van Dyke's actions were reportedly noticed by news organizations, and he allegedly attempted to conceal his identity by asking Polymarket to delete his account and changing his email address. The incident has sparked comments from US President Donald Trump, who expressed disapproval of the use of confidential information for betting purposes.
