Crypto Trading Gets a Boost with DoubleZero's High-Speed Data Platform for Solana

The DoubleZero Foundation has introduced a groundbreaking platform designed to accelerate the delivery of crypto market data to trading firms, marking a significant shift towards adopting Wall Street-style systems in the digital asset space. DoubleZero Edge, the project's inaugural offering, has gone live, providing a real-time feed of raw data from the Solana blockchain, thereby empowering traders with quicker access to information that can impact prices. By collaborating with validators, DoubleZero Edge taps into Solana's high-speed blockchain, which generates vast amounts of real-time data as transactions are processed, and distributes it more rapidly to market participants. Unlike traditional finance, which relies on specialized networks for high-speed data delivery, crypto markets have historically depended on the public internet, resulting in delays and inconsistencies. DoubleZero aims to revolutionize this setup by developing a dedicated system tailored specifically for on-chain data. According to the company, the new network can reduce data delivery times by tens of milliseconds, with more substantial gains during periods of high network activity, giving high-frequency trading firms a competitive edge. The platform utilizes a private fiber network and multicast, a method commonly employed in traditional financial markets to distribute data simultaneously to multiple participants. DoubleZero is also introducing a novel economic model, where Solana network validators can earn additional revenue by supplying data to the platform, while traders subscribe to the feeds using USDC. The launch coincides with the growing demand for reliable and predictable infrastructure among crypto trading firms, as competition intensifies and margins tighten. DoubleZero's system has the potential to level the playing field by minimizing uncertainty in market data delivery. As Andrew McConnell, co-founder of DoubleZero, noted, 'Traditional finance has spent decades developing infrastructure where speed and deterministic performance are a significant competitive advantage. On-chain markets lacked this foundation, leaving even sophisticated trading firms at a disadvantage. Deterministic infrastructure eliminates a risk that market makers must factor in, resulting in tighter spreads and better execution.'
