A $575 Investment in Shiba-Inspired Token Skyrockets to $1.17 Million in Just 5 Days
The memecoin season continues to generate life-changing returns for adventurous investors. An anonymous wallet acquired 2.79 billion ASTEROID tokens, an Ethereum-based memecoin themed around a Shiba Inu drawing by the late teenage cancer patient Liv Perrotto, for $575 on April 17. The entire position was sold for 503 ETH, worth approximately $1.17 million, just five days later, according to Lookonchain data, yielding a return of over 2,000x. ASTEROID's concept is rooted in Perrotto's artwork, which was inspired by Elon Musk's Shiba Inu, Floki, and even flew on the Polaris Dawn mission as a zero-gravity indicator. The token's market cap surged from around $50,000 to over $20 million after Musk expressed interest in making Asteroid SpaceX's official mascot, eventually exceeding $100 million with over $100 million in 24-hour trading volume. Although the token lacks formal SpaceX endorsement or licensing, its market cap has reached $186.5 million, with $24 million in 24-hour trading volume, and its price has increased by 20.69% over 24 hours and about 10x from the investor's entry point on April 17.
