Parasite Mining Pool Strikes Again with Second BTC Block

A revolutionary bitcoin mining pool, Parasite Pool, has achieved a significant milestone by mining its second block, block 945,601, on Friday, around 48 days after its first block at #938,713 in late February. This block contained 7,398 transactions and 0.002 BTC in fees, with bitcoin trading at $76,213 at the time. The pool operates on an innovative hybrid model, where the winning miner receives 1 BTC, and the remaining 2.125 BTC plus fees are distributed among all participants based on their shares submitted since the previous block. Notably, there are no fees to participate in this pool, and payouts are made through the Lightning Network. The pool's design aims to reject both the industrial pay-per-share model and the pure lottery approach, providing a unique solution for home miners. Founded by ZK Shark, the creator of Ordinal Maxi Biz, an NFT collection on Bitcoin, Parasite targets the home miner and offers a distinct alternative to traditional mining pools. By splitting the block reward, Parasite aims to provide a steady stream of income to participants, even during periods between block discoveries. The pool's hashrate currently stands at 52 petahashes per second, and its proportional distribution mechanics have been validated through two rounds of block discoveries. As the mining landscape continues to evolve, Parasite's hybrid model may offer a compelling solution for home miners and small-scale operators, providing a more sustainable and equitable approach to bitcoin mining.
