Bitcoin ETF Inflows Near $1 Billion, Fueling Bullish Sentiment Amid DeFi Concerns

Despite recent Iran-related news and DeFi hacking incidents, bitcoin's market trends continue to indicate a positive outlook, with the cryptocurrency trading at $77,810.14. Notably, U.S.-listed spot ETFs saw an influx of $663 million on Friday, marking the highest intake since January 15, with total inflows reaching $996 million for the week. This significant institutional investment signals robust interest in the largest cryptocurrency. For a substantial price surge to occur, sustained inflows are necessary. Timothy Misir, head of research at BRN, emphasized that consistent ETF flow regimes are more critical than their magnitude, as they signify structural demand. Bitcoin's price has remained relatively stable over the past 24 hours, hovering just above $75,000 after reaching highs of over $78,000 on Friday. Similar stability is observed in other major tokens, including ether, XRP, and Solana. However, the DeFi platform Aave's token has dropped 1% to $90 following the KelpDAO hack, with the DeFi dominance rate holding steady at around 3%. According to Alex Kuptsikevich, chief market analyst at FxPro, the pressure on bitcoin is linked to negative stock market reactions to Iran news, reducing risk appetite. Meanwhile, traders are building short positions, anticipating a potential 'short squeeze' if prices remain steady, which could push spot prices higher. The U.S. attack on an Iranian cargo ship has further impacted market sentiment. In technical analysis, Solana's weekly price swings show a crucial level at $95.16, which has acted as resistance since early February. The inability of SOL to reclaim this level indicates sustained bearish sentiment, with the next significant support level at $50. A strong move above this level, backed by increased trading volumes, is necessary to invalidate the bearish outlook.
