Bitcoin Bullish Outlook Intensifies with Nearly $1 Billion in ETF Inflows Amid DeFi Concerns
The current market trends indicate a positive outlook for bitcoin, trading at $77,602.81, despite recent developments in Iran and DeFi hacks. U.S.-listed spot ETFs experienced a significant influx of $663 million on Friday, with total inflows reaching $996 million for the week, signaling robust institutional interest in the cryptocurrency. For a substantial price increase to occur, this trend must be sustained. According to Timothy Misir, head of research at BRN, 'sustained inflows signify structural demand, while intermittent flows indicate tactical positioning.' Bitcoin's price has remained steady above $75,000 after reaching highs of over $78,000 on Friday. Other major tokens, including ether and Solana, are exhibiting similar patterns. The DeFi platform Aave's token has dropped 1% to $90 following the KelpDAO hack, with the DeFi dominance rate holding flat at around 3%. Alex Kuptsikevich, chief market analyst at FxPro, notes that 'pressure on the leading cryptocurrency is linked to negative reactions in stock markets to news about Iran, reducing risk appetite.' The U.S. attack on an Iranian cargo ship has contributed to this pressure. Traders are building short positions, which could lead to a 'short squeeze' if prices hold steady. In technical analysis, Solana's weekly price swings show a key level of $95.16, which has acted as resistance since February. The fact that Solana has not yet climbed back above this level suggests sustained bearish sentiment and potential for further losses. A strong move above this level, backed by increased trading volumes, is necessary to invalidate the bearish outlook.
