Parasite Mining Pool Strikes Again, Finds Second Bitcoin Block

A revolutionary bitcoin mining pool, Parasite Pool, has successfully mined its second block, validating its innovative design. This pool, launched in April 2025, operates on a distinct hybrid model, where the winning miner receives 1 BTC, and the remaining 2.125 BTC plus fees are distributed proportionally among all participants based on their shares submitted since the previous block. The pool has no participation fees, and payouts are made through the Lightning Network. By rejecting both the industrial pay-per-share model and the pure lottery approach, Parasite Pool has created a unique space for home miners. The pool's founder, ZK Shark, also the creator of the Ordinal Maxi Biz NFT collection on Bitcoin, aims to provide a more inclusive mining experience. The recent block, number 945,601, carried 7,398 transactions and 0.002 BTC in fees, with bitcoin trading at $76,213 at the time. The mining process, which secures bitcoin by solving cryptographic puzzles, is typically dominated by industrial operators with large-scale facilities. However, Parasite Pool's approach has attracted attention, especially among home miners. Unlike pure solo pools, which pay the full block reward minus a fee to the finder, Parasite Pool's hybrid model splits the difference, preserving the lottery payday while keeping satoshis flowing to participants between blocks. With its hashrate currently at 52 petahashes per second, Parasite Pool has demonstrated its potential, and a third block within the next two months would further validate its model.
