Bitcoin Bull Run Gains Momentum as ETF Inflows Reach Nearly $1 Billion
The current market trends suggest a positive outlook for bitcoin, with a value of $77,524.84, despite recent developments in Iran and DeFi hacks. U.S.-listed spot ETFs saw a significant influx of $663 million on Friday, with total inflows reaching $996 million for the week, indicating robust institutional interest in the cryptocurrency. For a substantial price increase to occur, this trend must be sustained. According to Timothy Misir, head of research at BRN, consistent ETF flows are crucial, as they signal structural demand. Bitcoin's price has remained relatively stable over the past 24 hours, trading just above $75,000 after reaching highs of over $78,000 on Friday. Similar patterns are observed in other major tokens, including ether, XRP, and Solana. The DeFi platform Aave's AAVE token has dropped 1% to $90 due to the recent KelpDAO hack. The DeFi dominance rate remains steady at around 3%. The pressure on the leading cryptocurrency is linked to negative reactions in stock markets to news about Iran, reducing risk appetite. Traders are actively building short positions, which could lead to a 'short squeeze' if prices remain steady, potentially pushing spot prices higher. The U.S. attack on an Iranian cargo ship has further impacted market sentiment. In technical analysis, Solana's weekly price swings show a key level at $95.16, which has acted as resistance since early February. The fact that SOL has not yet reclaimed this level indicates sustained bearish sentiment and potential for deeper losses. A strong move above this level, backed by increased trading volumes, is necessary to invalidate the bearish outlook.
