Bitcoin Remains Above Crucial Level Ahead of Warsh Hearing

Bitcoin is currently trading with a positive trend above the $75,000 threshold, a level previously identified by CoinDesk as crucial for bulls to maintain their grip on the market. However, some analysts are advising caution, emphasizing the need for prices to remain above this level through Wednesday, when the U.S.-Iran ceasefire is scheduled to expire. Analysts at Marex noted that the market must consider two potential paths - an extension and de-escalation of the conflict, or renewed escalation and increased oil prices. This uncertainty could lead to significant market volatility. The situation is further complicated by the upcoming nomination hearing for Federal Reserve Chair, Kevin Warsh, known for his stance as an 'inflation hawk.' His comments during the hearing could have a significant impact on the market, particularly if they reinforce expectations of policy easing. In the broader cryptocurrency market, major players like ether, solana, and XRP have seen modest gains of less than 2% over the past 24 hours, underperforming bitcoin. Conversely, smaller tokens such as XLM and TON have experienced more substantial growth, exceeding 5% each. The CoinDesk Memecoin Index has also seen an increase of over 3%. Notably, the DeFi Select Index rose by 2%, despite the recent hack of KelpDAO, which led to significant losses for decentralized lender Aave. The total value of crypto assets locked on Aave's platform has fallen to $16 billion, a decline of nearly $10 billion. Aave's native token, AAVE, has dropped 18% to $93 following the hack. Open interest in futures tied to the token has reached a record high, indicating potential for increased volatility. In terms of market trends, XRP remains below both its 100-day average price and the prolonged bear market trendline, even as bitcoin and ether have surpassed these levels. Until XRP reclaims these levels, its momentum is expected to remain weaker compared to bitcoin and ether.
