XRP, Plasma, and DOGE Show Promise as Bitcoin Remains Sluggish

Bitcoin's stagnant trading near $75,000 has shifted the spotlight to other notable cryptocurrency projects. XRP, the token utilized by Ripple for cross-border transactions, has seen a resurgence in demand with over $17 million in inflows to U.S.-listed spot XRP ETFs. This uptick, although smaller than bitcoin's, signals renewed interest after a period of dormancy. Ripple's partnership with Kyobo Life Insurance to launch a blockchain-based, real-time tokenized government bond settlement system in South Korea further boosts XRP's prospects. The token's derivatives market also exhibits bullish signs, with rising open interest and positive funding rates. Meanwhile, Plasma, a stablecoin-focused layer-1 blockchain, has emerged as the seventh-largest blockchain by total value locked, with its TVL surging 27% over the past week and over 80% in the last 30 days. This growth may be linked to optimism surrounding the potential approval of the CLARITY Act, which aims to clarify digital asset regulation in the U.S. Additionally, Plasma has been selected to support Tether's new self-custody wallet. DOGE, the meme-inspired token, is experiencing its lowest volatility since February 2024, as indicated by tightened Bollinger Bands. This typically precedes a period of significant price swings. As for bitcoin, on-chain profit-taking, uneven spot demand, and cautious options suggest continued range-bound trading near $75,000. Market participants are advised to remain alert for potential breakouts.
