Bitcoin Sees Nearly $1 Billion Influx, Bolstering Bullish Outlook Amid DeFi Concerns

The current market trends are favoring a bullish outlook for bitcoin, with a value of $78,053.90, despite being overshadowed by Iran-related news and DeFi security breaches. On Friday, U.S.-based spot ETFs experienced an influx of $663 million, the largest since January 15, with total inflows reaching $996 million for the week, up from $786 million the previous week, according to SoSoValue data. This significant investment indicates robust institutional interest in the leading cryptocurrency. For a substantial price increase to occur, this trend must be sustained. According to Timothy Misir, head of research at BRN, 'sustained ETF inflows signal structural demand, while intermittent flows indicate tactical positioning.' Bitcoin is currently trading above $75,000 after reaching highs of over $78,000 on Friday. The price has remained relatively stable over the past 24 hours, with similar patterns observed in other major tokens such as ether and Solana. The AAVE token has dropped 1% to $90 due to the KelpDAO hack, with the DeFi dominance rate holding steady at around 3%. Alex Kuptsikevich, chief market analyst at FxPro, notes that 'BTC has lagged behind equities in recent days, building potential but not yet realizing it.' The U.S. seizure of an Iranian cargo ship has led to reduced risk appetite, negatively impacting the leading cryptocurrency. Traders are actively building short positions, which could lead to a 'short squeeze' if prices remain steady. The chart for Solana shows a notable level at $95.16, which has acted as resistance for 11 consecutive weeks. A strong move above this level, backed by increased trading volumes, is necessary to invalidate the bearish outlook.
