Bitcoin Holds Above Crucial Level as Markets Await Warsh Hearing and US-Iran Ceasefire Deadline

The price of bitcoin is currently trading with a positive trend above the $75,000 threshold, a level previously identified by CoinDesk as crucial for maintaining bullish control. However, some analysts are advising caution, noting that prices must remain above this level through Wednesday, when the US-Iran ceasefire is set to expire. Analysts at Marex stated, "The market must consider two scenarios: an extension and de-escalation, or renewed escalation and oil price increases, which could result in significant market volatility." An escalation could lead to a substantial increase in oil prices, potentially above $119, and negatively impact Asian and global equity markets. The question remains whether bitcoin will continue to demonstrate resilience or come under pressure along with the broader market. As of the latest update, no Iranian delegation has departed for talks in Pakistan, and President Donald Trump has warned of a significant escalation in the conflict if the ceasefire ends without a deal. Additionally, analysts are focused on the upcoming nomination hearing for Federal Reserve Chair, Kevin Warsh, scheduled for Tuesday. Warsh is known for his hawkish stance on inflation and has opposed interest rate cuts and quantitative easing in the past. His comments during the hearing could have a significant impact on the market, particularly if they reinforce expectations of policy easing. In other market news, major cryptocurrencies such as ether and XRP have seen modest gains of less than 2% over the past 24 hours, underperforming bitcoin. Smaller tokens, including XLM and TON, have seen gains of over 5%. The CoinDesk Memecoin Index has risen by over 3%. Notably, the DeFi Select Index has added 2%, despite the recent hack of KelpDAO, which saw the attacker drain rsETH, a widely used liquid restaking token. Decentralized lender Aave has been significantly impacted, with the total value of crypto assets locked on its platform falling to $16 billion, a decline of nearly $10 billion since the hack. Aave's native token, AAVE, has declined by 18% to $93 since the hack, while open interest in futures tied to the token has hit a record high, indicating potential for increased volatility ahead.
