UK Seeks to Lure Crypto Exchange Bybit to London, Emulating UAE's Innovation

In a bid to replicate the UAE's success in attracting major cryptocurrency players, UK economic development officials have invited Bybit's leadership to London. The meetings, which included discussions with the Financial Conduct Authority and the House of Lords, aimed to explore opportunities for the crypto exchange to establish a presence in the UK. Bybit, founded in 2018 and currently headquartered in Dubai, is the second-largest crypto exchange globally. The UK government is eager to attract big businesses and create jobs, with a focus on forthcoming pro-crypto regulations. The invitation comes as the UAE faces challenges, including recent attacks from Iran, prompting an outflow of companies and residents. The UK sees this as an opportunity to win back businesses and investment, with Bybit's CEO noting that the timing is ideal for the UK to push its innovation agenda, particularly in the crypto sector.
