Bitcoin Bullish Outlook Gains Momentum with $1 Billion ETF Inflows Amid DeFi Concerns

Despite recent Iran-related news and DeFi security breaches making headlines, the bitcoin market continues to show a positive trend, with the price of BTC currently at $77,910.92. Last week, U.S.-listed spot ETFs saw significant inflows of $996 million, with $663 million coming in on Friday alone, indicating strong interest from institutional investors. For a substantial price increase to occur, it's crucial that this trend persists. According to Timothy Misir, head of research at BRN, sustained inflows are a sign of structural demand, while intermittent flows suggest tactical positioning, with consistency being more important than magnitude. Bitcoin's price has remained relatively stable over the past 24 hours, trading just above $75,000 after reaching highs of over $78,000 on Friday. Similar stability is seen in other major tokens like ether, XRP, and Solana. The DeFi platform Aave's AAVE token has dropped 1% to $90 following the KelpDAO hack, with the DeFi dominance rate remaining steady at around 3%. Analysts note that negative reactions to Iran news in stock markets have reduced risk appetite, causing BTC to lag behind equities. However, this has built potential for a breakout. Traders are actively building short positions, which could lead to a 'short squeeze' if prices remain steady, potentially pushing spot prices higher. The latest reports indicate the U.S. has seized an Iranian cargo ship, further impacting market sentiment. In technical analysis, Solana's weekly price swings show a significant level at $95.16, which has acted as resistance since early February. The fact that SOL has not climbed back above this level suggests sustained bearish sentiment and potential for further losses, with the next major support level at $50. A strong move above $95.16, backed by increased trading volumes, would be needed to invalidate the bearish outlook.
