Bitcoin Bull Run Gains Momentum with Nearly $1 Billion in ETF Inflows
The current market trends suggest a positive outlook for bitcoin, trading at $77,705.85, despite recent Iran-related news and DeFi hacking incidents. Last week, U.S.-listed spot ETFs saw significant inflows of $996 million, with $663 million on Friday alone, indicating strong institutional investment in the cryptocurrency. For a substantial price increase, this trend needs to continue. According to Timothy Misir, head of research at BRN, sustained ETF inflows signal structural demand, while intermittent flows indicate tactical positioning. Bitcoin's price has remained steady above $75,000 after reaching highs over $78,000 on Friday. Similar stability is observed in other major tokens like ether, XRP, and Solana. However, DeFi platform Aave's token has dropped 1% to $90 following the KelpDAO hack. The DeFi dominance rate remains around 3%. The pressure on bitcoin is linked to negative stock market reactions to Iran news, which has reduced risk appetite. Traders are building short positions, potentially leading to a 'short squeeze' if prices hold steady. A level of $95.16 stands out in Solana's weekly price swings, acting as resistance after previously being a support level. Solana's failure to climb back above this level indicates sustained bearish sentiment and potential for further losses. A strong move above $50, backed by increased trading volumes, is needed to invalidate the bearish outlook.
