XRP, Plasma, and DOGE Are Gaining Attention as Bitcoin Remains Stagnant
With bitcoin currently trading near $75,000, other cryptocurrency projects such as XRP, Plasma, and DOGE are exhibiting notable developments. XRP, the token utilized by Ripple for cross-border transactions, has seen U.S.-listed spot XRP ETFs attract over $17 million in inflows, signaling a resurgence in demand. This is further supported by Ripple's partnership with Kyobo Life Insurance to launch a real-time tokenized government bond settlement system on blockchain in South Korea. The derivatives market for XRP is also displaying bullish signals, with rising open interest and positive funding rates. Meanwhile, Plasma, a stablecoin-focused layer-1 blockchain, has become the world's seventh-largest blockchain by total value locked, with a TVL of $2 billion, representing a 27% increase over the past week and over 80% in the last 30 days. The growth driver is unclear but may be linked to the potential approval of the CLARITY Act in the U.S., which aims to clarify the regulation of digital assets. Additionally, Plasma has been selected to support Tether's new self-custody wallet. DOGE, the meme-inspired token, is experiencing low volatility, as indicated by Bollinger Bands, which are currently at their tightest since February 2024. This typically signals a period of low volatility that is likely to end with significant price swings. Bitcoin, on the other hand, is expected to continue trading in a range near $75,000 due to on-chain profit-taking, uneven spot demand, and cautious options. It is essential to remain alert to these market developments.
