Bitcoin Bullish Outlook Intensifies as ETF Inflows Surge Past $996 Million
The current market trends are painting a positive picture for bitcoin, which is trading at $78,798.23, despite concerns over Iran and DeFi hacks. U.S.-listed spot ETFs saw significant inflows of $663 million on Friday, totaling $996 million for the week, indicating strong interest from institutions. For a substantial price increase, this trend needs to continue. According to Timothy Misir, head of research at BRN, sustained ETF inflows signal structural demand, while intermittent flows indicate tactical positioning. Bitcoin's price has remained steady above $75,000 after reaching highs of over $78,000 on Friday. Similar stability is seen in other major tokens like ether, XRP, and Solana. The DeFi platform Aave's token has dropped 1% to $90 following the KelpDAO hack, with the DeFi dominance rate holding flat at 3%. The pressure on bitcoin is linked to negative stock market reactions to Iran news, reducing risk appetite. However, traders are building short positions, which could lead to a 'short squeeze' if prices remain steady, potentially pushing spot prices higher. The U.S. seizure of an Iranian cargo ship has also impacted market sentiment. Meanwhile, the solana chart shows a significant level at $95.16, which has acted as resistance since February. A strong move above this level, backed by increased trading volumes, is needed to invalidate the bearish outlook.
