Bitcoin ETF Inflows Surpass $996 Million, Fueling Bullish Sentiment Amid DeFi Concerns

Despite Iran-related news and DeFi hacking concerns, bitcoin's market trends continue to indicate a positive outlook, with the cryptocurrency currently trading above $75,000. Last week, U.S.-listed spot ETFs saw significant inflows of $996 million, up from $786 million the previous week, signaling strong institutional interest. For a substantial price increase to occur, this trend must be sustained. According to Timothy Misir, head of research at BRN, consistent ETF inflows are crucial for indicating structural demand. Bitcoin's price has remained relatively stable over the past 24 hours, with similar patterns observed in other major tokens such as ether and Solana. The DeFi platform Aave's token has dropped 1% to $90 following the KelpDAO hack, while the DeFi dominance rate has remained flat at around 3%. The pressure on bitcoin is linked to negative stock market reactions to Iran news, reducing risk appetite. However, this could lead to a potential breakout. Traders are building short positions, which may fuel a 'short squeeze' if prices hold steady, potentially pushing spot prices higher. In other news, the U.S. attack on an Iranian cargo ship has reduced risk appetite, causing bitcoin to lag behind equities. Meanwhile, Solana's price has remained below the $95.16 level for 11 consecutive weeks, indicating sustained bearish sentiment and potential for deeper losses. A strong move above this level, backed by increased trading volumes, is needed to invalidate the bearish outlook.
