Bitcoin Sees Bullish Signs Amid $1 Billion Inflows and DeFi Concerns
Despite concerns over Iran and DeFi hacks, bitcoin's market trends indicate a positive outlook, with the cryptocurrency trading at $78,117.33. Last week, U.S.-listed spot ETFs saw total inflows of $996 million, up from $786 million the previous week, signaling strong interest from institutions. For a significant price increase, sustained inflows are necessary. According to Timothy Misir, head of research at BRN, 'consistent ETF flows are more important than their magnitude, as they indicate structural demand.' Bitcoin's price has remained steady above $75,000 after reaching highs of over $78,000 on Friday. Similar trends are observed in other major tokens like ether, XRP, and Solana. The DeFi platform Aave's token has dropped 1% to $90 following the KelpDAO hack, while the DeFi dominance rate remains at around 3%. Analysts attribute the pressure on bitcoin to negative stock market reactions to Iran news, reducing risk appetite. However, this could build potential for a future breakout. Traders are actively building short positions, which could lead to a 'short squeeze' if prices hold steady, potentially driving prices higher. The U.S. attack on an Iranian cargo ship has also impacted market sentiment. In technical analysis, Solana's weekly price swings show a key level at $95.16, which has acted as resistance since early February. The fact that Solana has not yet surpassed this level indicates sustained bearish sentiment and potential for further losses. A strong move above $50, backed by increased trading volumes, is needed to invalidate the bearish outlook.
