Tom Duff Gordon, formerly the vice president of international policy at Coinbase, a prominent US-listed cryptocurrency exchange, has made a career move. After nearly four years at Coinbase, Duff Gordon has joined OpenAI as the head of EMEA Policy, according to a statement from a Coinbase representative. Prior to his time at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse.
He was unavailable for comment at the time of inquiry. As an expert in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had recently highlighted the issue of UK banks restricting access to compliant services for millions of customers, due to their failure to differentiate between low-risk, Financial Conduct Authority-registered firms and higher-risk operators.
