According to Patrick Witt, the White House's primary crypto adviser, efforts are underway to solidify a compromise that will facilitate the progression of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act in the U.S. Senate.

In a recent interview on CoinDesk TV, Witt expressed optimism that the common ground secured by key senators from both parties regarding stablecoin yield will endure. Witt stated, 'We're hopeful that the compromise that has been reached will be durable and will hold.

Solving that was a must-have before we could get onto the other outstanding issues.' He added that several other points are being addressed behind the scenes, with some issues already resolved. The Clarity Act had faced potential roadblocks, including concerns over illicit financial protections in the DeFi space and a request from Democrats to bar senior government officials from profiting from the crypto sector.

Witt noted that negotiations have made significant progress, and he is confident that the remaining issues can be resolved. The Clarity Act requires a markup hearing in the Senate Banking Committee before it can proceed to a final Senate vote. A recent report from White House economists downplayed the threats posed by stablecoin yield, which was met with a response from the American Bankers Association. Witt acknowledged that bankers have varying views on the issue, depending on their proximity to the technology.
