UK Seeks to Lure Crypto Leader Bybit to London, Emulating UAE's Innovative Spirit
In a bid to replicate the success of Dubai and the UAE in attracting cryptocurrency businesses, UK economic development officials have invited Bybit's leadership to London. CEO Ben Zhou revealed that the UK is eager to attract major companies and create jobs, with a focus on forthcoming crypto-friendly regulations. Bybit, founded by Zhou in 2018 and now headquartered in Dubai, is the second-largest crypto exchange globally. The UK aims to replicate the UAE's success in drawing in smaller crypto companies, which were attracted by the presence of major players like Bybit and Binance. Zhou's meetings with the FCA and House of Lords coincide with UK Fintech Week and plans to revamp payment systems using stablecoins and tokenization. The invitation is seen as a strategic move by the UK to regain innovative momentum and attract businesses that have been drawn to the UAE, particularly in the wake of recent instability in the region.
