Patrick Witt, the White House's primary crypto adviser, stated that efforts are ongoing to solidify the compromise that will propel the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act forward in the U.S. Senate. In a recent interview, Witt mentioned that several other issues are being addressed behind the scenes.

He expressed optimism that the stablecoin yield compromise reached will endure, allowing for progress on other outstanding issues. The Clarity Act had faced several potential roadblocks, including illicit financial protections in the DeFi space and concerns about government officials profiting from the crypto sector. While Witt did not disclose the specific topics that have been settled, he noted that considerable progress has been made in the background, giving him confidence that the remaining issues can be resolved.

The Clarity Act requires a markup hearing in the Senate Banking Committee before it can proceed to a final Senate vote. Recently, White House economists released a report downplaying the threats posed by stablecoin yield, which was met with a response from the American Bankers Association.

Witt acknowledged that bankers have varying views on the issue, depending on their proximity to the technology.
