Tom Duff Gordon, who served as the vice president of international policy at the US-based cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, has moved on to new opportunities. After nearly four years with Coinbase, Duff Gordon has joined OpenAI as the head of EMEA Policy, as stated by a Coinbase representative. Prior to his time at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse. He was unavailable for comment at the time of inquiry.
As an expert in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had previously highlighted the issue of UK banks restricting access to legitimate and compliant services for millions of customers, due to their inability to differentiate between low-risk, Financial Conduct Authority-registered firms and higher-risk operators.
