Bitcoin Price Holds Above Crucial Level Ahead of Warsh Hearing

Bitcoin is currently trading with a positive trend above the $75,000 threshold, a level previously identified by CoinDesk as essential for bulls to maintain their grip on the market. However, some analysts are advising caution, emphasizing the importance of prices remaining above this level through Wednesday, when the U.S.-Iran ceasefire is set to expire. Analysts at Marex noted that the market must consider two potential paths - extension and de-escalation versus renewed escalation and oil price increases - which could lead to significant market volatility. This uncertainty could impact oil prices, potentially surpassing the March high of $119, and subsequently affecting Asian and global equity markets. The resilience of bitcoin, which remained relatively stable around $70,000 during the March conflict, is being closely watched. As of the latest update, no Iranian delegation has departed for talks in Pakistan, and President Donald Trump has warned of a significant escalation in the conflict if the ceasefire ends without an agreement. Additionally, the nomination hearing for Federal Reserve Chair, Kevin Warsh, is scheduled for Tuesday. Warsh, known for his stance as an 'inflation hawk,' could influence market expectations with his remarks, particularly if they reinforce expectations of policy easing. In the broader cryptocurrency market, major coins such as ether, solana, and XRP have seen modest gains of less than 2% over the past 24 hours, underperforming bitcoin. However, smaller tokens like XLM and TON have experienced more significant increases, exceeding 5% each. The CoinDesk Memecoin Index has risen by over 3%, and the DeFi Select Index has added 2%, despite the recent hack of KelpDAO, which impacted several DeFi platforms, including Aave. Aave's native token, AAVE, has declined by 18% to $93 since the hack, while open interest in futures tied to the token has reached a record high, indicating potential for increased volatility. The total value of crypto assets locked on Aave's platform has fallen to $16 billion, down nearly $10 billion since before the hack.
