Tom Duff Gordon, who served as Coinbase's vice president of international policy, has made the move to OpenAI, where he will lead the company's EMEA Policy division. During his nearly four-year tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon played a key role in shaping the company's international policy. Prior to joining Coinbase, he spent 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse.
Duff Gordon's departure was confirmed by a Coinbase spokesperson, and he has yet to comment on the move. As an expert in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had previously highlighted the issue of U.K. banks restricting access to lawful and compliant services due to their failure to differentiate between low-risk, FCA-registered firms and higher-risk operators.
