Nikita Bier, X's head of product, has made a statement that may be a hint about the company's upcoming plans. In a post that garnered over 677,000 views in a matter of hours, Bier wrote, 'Crypto has had a rough year. Maybe we should launch something to fix it.' This comes just weeks before the launch of X Money, a fiat payments app that will offer peer-to-peer transfers, bank deposits, a debit card, and cashback rewards, all built in partnership with Visa. While details about the product are still limited, it is known that it will operate in over 40 US states.

The recent hiring of Benji Taylor, former Chief Product Officer at Aave and Head of Design at Base, has also sparked interest in the potential direction of X Money. Bier has expressed admiration for Taylor's work, calling one of his previous products one of the best-designed he has seen.

As X Money prepares to go live, the question remains whether it will compete with crypto or eventually integrate blockchain technology. For now, Bier's statement has added to the anticipation and speculation surrounding the launch.
