Patrick Witt, the primary crypto adviser to the White House, has stated that efforts are ongoing to solidify a compromise that is expected to propel the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act forward in the U.S. Senate. In a recent interview, Witt expressed optimism that the common ground achieved on stablecoin yield will remain intact. He acknowledged that resolving this issue was a prerequisite for addressing other outstanding matters, which he is now focusing on.
Witt also noted that significant progress has been made in resolving several other issues, although he declined to specify which ones. The Clarity Act must undergo a markup hearing in the Senate Banking Committee before it can proceed to a final Senate vote. Despite objections from bank lobbyists, Witt remains confident that the remaining issues can be resolved, citing the progress made so far as a positive indicator.
