Tom Duff Gordon, who served as the vice president of international policy at Coinbase for nearly four years, has made a career move to OpenAI, where he will assume the role of head of EMEA Policy. Prior to his tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse.

His departure was confirmed by a Coinbase spokesperson. As an expert in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had previously highlighted the issue of U.K. banks restricting access to compliant services for millions of customers, due to their failure to differentiate between low-risk, Financial Conduct Authority-registered firms and higher-risk operators.
