Tom Duff Gordon, who served as the vice president of international policy at Coinbase, a prominent U.S.-listed cryptocurrency exchange, has departed the company. After nearly four years with Coinbase, Duff Gordon is moving on to become the head of EMEA Policy at OpenAI, as disclosed by a Coinbase spokesperson via email. Prior to his tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse. He was unavailable for comment at the time of inquiry.

As an expert in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had previously highlighted the issue of U.K. banks restricting access to compliant services for millions of customers, due to their failure to differentiate between low-risk, Financial Conduct Authority-registered firms and higher-risk operators.
