Zero-knowledge proofs address this issue by enabling one party to prove a statement is true without revealing the underlying data.
On the XRP Ledger, this means a payment can be verified as valid, correctly funded, and compliant without exposing the amount, sender, or receiver to the public ledger. The XRP Ledger already has significant institutional traction, with users such as SBI Holdings, Zand Bank, Archax, and Guggenheim Treasury Services. The connection to Boundless provides these institutional users with a path to privacy they previously lacked. The integration of zero-knowledge proofs is particularly notable given the current conversation around blockchain cryptography, as it positions the XRP Ledger to build on cryptographic foundations that may be more resistant to quantum computing threats.
